CamelBak Hydration Pack
CamelBak Unbottle 100oz
When you are going on any hiking trip, a hydration bladder system is the best way to go for hydrating yourself. Stopping and reaching for a canteen or bottle is not nearly as efficient as having a tube and mouthpiece right at your convenience to hydrate and cool you off during a hike. I purchased a CamelBak Unbottle 100oz hydration pack 3 years ago and have nothing but good things to say about it. I have never had any leaks or punctures in the bladder and it fits nice in any pack that I have used. The only thing I would recommend to do is clean it out once in a while with boiling water and run it through the tubes. Make sure you keep the mouthpiece clean as bacteria can grow if unattended too. I payed around $30CDN for this hydration pack and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Update in 2014: I have now had this unit for 7 years and just encountered my first problem. The main lid has lost it’s seal so now I get air in the bladder and leakage if it is upside down. The other thing I would change is to add a quick release hose to the bottom so you can easily fill the bladder with a Katadyn water filter pump.
I have emailed Camel Bak to see how they will do with the warranty issue as they are covered under a liftetime warranty.
