Bushnell 3200 Elite Scope

When I purchased my Weatherby Vanguard from Italian Sporting Goods, I topped it with a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-10x50mm Scope on Leupold rings and bases. My budget was around the $300 mark so it was either the
Bushnell Elite 3200 or the Leupold RX II. I spent some time looking through the scopes and thought that the Bushnell Elite was a bit more crisp. I had it mounted & bore sighted at the store and never had to re-tighten it since. The scope, bases, and rings all handled the recoil from hand loaded .300WM ammunition quite well. The 10x power has come in handy and the extra size of the objective lens has also been a huge asset. I am accustomed to the larger objective lens size now, and would not go back to the 40mm unless weight became imperative. The scope was pretty good in low light situations but I definitely noticed my Minox 10x52mm HG bino’s had better light gathering ability then my Bushnell Elite 3200.

Water drops for the most part did not affect vision through the scope. In snowy situations I did have a couple fog ups but was able to clear them fairly quick. Scope caps would have helped this problem but I had such a bad experience with the Butler Ridge scope caps breaking that I gave up on them. So over all I would say this is a good scope for the money. I would not want to go any lower in quality on a hunting scope though. I have had 5 good years with this scope with no defects or problems, but now have replaced it with a Minox scope to see if I gain a bit more clarity in low light conditions.
